Hello all!
I am up for a job promotion but in order for me to get it I have to get my CCA or CCS certification. I will be coding ICD-10s ONLY for IP and OP for a home health and hospice company. Time is not on my side so I have to get busy to meet my deadline on this.I took the 2017 AAPC online medical billing and coding course but I need a refresher BAD!
So today I purchased the ICD-10 Blitz and the CIC IP Blitz to help me get jump started on achieving this goal.
My question is this-
We use the Optum 2019 ICD-10 CM Home Health and Hospice manual here at work and is what I will be using when promoted to code. As my books are out of date (2017) I need to purchase a ICD-10 manual. I am not sure which one they allow you to bring at the state exam. Do I need to purchase the 2019 ICD-10-CM or can I use the 2019 Optum ICD-10-CM Home Health and Hospice manual.I am hoping I can that way I can still utilize it at work too with all my bubble highlighting BHAT CAVE notes in it and all afterwards.
I am just not sure which one to purchase. Some say only certain ones are allowed when taking the state test...HELP!!!
