Aaron N asked:

Endovascular Repair of right internal carotid artery aneurysm with coil embolization.

When working through this I thought the best course to follow would be to look under repair in the med surg. But the answer is under restriction (03VK3DZ) . Can you explain this?

Thank you!

Answer:

With PCS it is all about the outcome and not what you are doing to the patient. That is one of the biggest ways it is different the CPT. When you do this procedure what is the outcome? It is a restriction. So you have to ask yourself; what is the repair actually? The best advice I can give you is to study the root operations and what they mean. We have done a lot of training on this in our course for the CIC. Once you understand the root operations PCS is a breeze.
