Resolved Colouterine fistula

Status
Not open for further replies.
N82.3 fistula of vagina to large intestine.
N82.2 if it is the small intestine.
N82.8 if you do not know which.
N82.9 is unspecified

The ICD-10-CM code N82. 3 might also be used to specify conditions or terms like colovaginal fistula or fistula of vagina to large intestine or intestinovaginal fistula or rectovaginal fistula or sigmoidovaginal fistula. The code N82. 3 is applicable to female patients only.

If its an incidental finding you cant bill separately, its bundled.

Per NCCI:
If an excised section of intestine includes a fistula tract, a fistula closure code should not be reported separately. Closure of the fistula is included in the excision of intestine. the closure of fistula is included in sigmoid resection............see ncci policy manual .Chapter 6

pt is female and not an incidental finding so it looks like N82.3 would be appropriate? Thank you
