Is it a waste of time to annotate my CPT 2022? I am taking a medical billing class now and hoping to take the exam in Jan 2023. Will I be able to use my CPT 2022 to take the exam. The school just sent me the 2022 version.

New CPT 2023 is shipping now! Perhaps you can ask your school to send the 2023 version.

You can use the 2022 manuals for exams in 2023 but it is NOT recommended as there were many changes this year plus more new E/M guidelines.

ICD-10-CM code system for 2023 include 1176 new codes 2,081 in total changes.

2023 CPT code set will see 393 editorial changes, including 225 new codes, 75 deletions, and 93 revisions.

Thank you so much! Wow, I started annotating my 2022 about a week ago with the downloads from this site..I guess I need to stop and get a CPT 2023 book and start over. Are the 2023 annotations on here yet?

Last year's BHAT® Method for the CPT manual was uploaded one chapter at a time between mid-November and February. Although we cannot guarantee the same timeline due to E/M 2023 changes, we will try our best to match it again this year. Please keep in mind you can use the existing 2022 CPT BHAT™ Method document to start marking up your new 2023 CPT manual. Many of the codes do not change and you can get a big head start marking up the unchanged sections! Additional updates will be posted here on this thread.

The 2023 ICD-10 annotated guidelines are available now here:
