What is/are the correct CPT code(s) for Ozempic injection. The patient is dx with E11.9, type 2 Diabetes, brought in Ozempic pen for us to inject. Do I code the encounter as a 99211 only? I found that Ozempic is unclassified drug so do i code the encounter as J3490 and 96372?

Resolved How to bill ozempic injections.

I think what you are going to need to do is bill for an office visit and eduction on the new medication. Usually the idea is for the provider to see the pt do the first injection and then the patient does it moving forward at home. The provider monitors after.
