Donna Garrett asked:

Page 204 in Abstract and Code It; patient 2. Pt with prostate cancer is being seen for leuprolide injection. I coded Z51.12 for the injection followed by C61. The answer on page 471 only coded the C61. But not the Z code was not coded. I think it should have been codded because the document states that was the readon for visit.

Thank you; DonnaG

* Hi Donna;
Leuprolide (Lupron) is considered a hormone therapy injection. The Z51.12 is for antineoplastic immunotherapy. Lupron is not considered immunotherapy. So in this case you would have the C61 and where Lupron is a hormone you can code Z79.818. If you look in your ICD 10 book in the back there will be a whole list of ICD 10 codes that match to what drug the patient is on. Just keep in mind not every drug will be in there. Hope this is helpful!
